A Chesterton Academy Play Production
The Importance of Being Earnest is a play written by Oscar Wilde first performed in 1895. The play is a comedy on the theme of false identity. The two protagonists, Algernon and Jack, have invented a name for themselves to avoid social obligations. They each woo women with their false name, and the result of their deceptions in the sphere of romance is a memorable, and hilarious one.
This year’s play is going to be a unique production put together by the hardwork and direction of four of our Seniors. With Estelle Fordyce and Lucy Gallagher directing, and Brigitta Andreas and Leah Belleque as stage managers, it is sure to be a hit!
There will be three performances, Friday, May 13th at 7:30 pm, Saturday, the 14th at 7:30pm, and Sunday the 15th at 2:00pm. Light refreshments will be available.
