CAWV Celebrates Permanent Home with Ribbon Cutting and Solemn Blessing

Chesterton Academy of the Willamette Valley celebrated a significant milestone on Wednesday, September 9, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and solemn blessing of its permanent home in Mt. Angel.

Students, faculty, board members, families, supporters, and members of the local community gathered for the celebration. Headmaster Nick Plato welcomed guests, followed by a blessing from school chaplain Fr. John Paul and remarks from Mt. Angel Mayor Joe Pfau. Mayor Pfau then joined school leadership, Fr. John Paul, and students for the official ribbon cutting, followed by a solemn procession and blessing of the school.

Chesterton Academy began in 2018 with just 10 students and has since grown to 60 students in grades 9–12. The purchase of its building gives the school a permanent home in Mt. Angel and reflects years of growth made possible by the generosity and commitment of families, board members, donors, and friends of the school.

That support also made several campus improvements possible this summer, including new flooring, fresh paint, refurbished doors, and other updates throughout the building.

Chesterton Academy of the Willamette Valley provides a classical Catholic education for students in grades 9–12, forming students in faith, reason, virtue, and a love of truth, goodness, and beauty.

The ribbon cutting marks a new chapter for Chesterton Academy as the school puts down permanent roots in the Mt. Angel community and looks ahead to continued growth in the years to come.
